134 Vivekananda primary schools of the state have been closed for 5 years, chairs, tables, everything, but why are they still empty?

The buildings of 134 new schools built at a cost of crores of rupees are gathering dust. Buildings worth crores of rupees are ready for pre-primary and primary classes in Swami Vivekananda Model Schools. The education department has not yet given permission to start classes in these school buildings. According to ADPC Sitaram Meena, no orders have been received to start classes in these school buildings, due to which these schools are vacant.

Will start soon

Primary classes will be started in 134 Vivekananda Model Schools of the state from the session 2024-25. Their buildings were built about 5 years ago at a cost of Rs 120 crore. On Thursday, when Dainik Bhaskar asked Education Minister Madan Dilawar about the plight of these buildings, he said that classes will be started from this session itself. Preparations are being made to start classes up to 5th. Students will be given admission in the new session. The existing Vivekananda schools in the country offer classes from class 6 to 12 and are running on regular basis.

Buildings were built during the reign of Vasundhara Raje to start primary classes. In these, classes have not started for the last five years. The buildings are falling into disrepair without use. 134 model schools were started in different phases in the state. But in this only students from class 6th to 12th are given admission. 4 model schools are also running in Ajmer district. Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore were given to construct a separate building for conducting classes 1st to 5th. Buildings were constructed in 2019, but after the change of government, admissions to primary classes were not made.

This scheme was started in 2009-10

Vivekananda Model School Scheme was launched in 2009-10 under the financial provision of Central and State Government. In which the Centre’s share was 75 percent and the state’s share was 25 percent. Later the Central Government ended the National Secondary Education Campaign. Since then they are being run with 100% financial management of the State Government.

Preparations are being made, studies will start from this session

In Vivekananda Model Schools, classes from class 1 to 5 will be started from the new session. Preparations are going on. Parents will find schools with better resources for their children in the form of English medium schools right from the start. Admission will be given up to class 5 in all Vivekananda Model Schools of the state.
